On December 21-22, the 2024 Xiamen University International Workshop on Experimental Economics was held in the Economics Building. The two-day workshop attracted over sixty scholars from over 30 universities at home and abroad. They gathered in Xiamen to share the latest research in the field of experimental economics.
There were three keynote speeches, 19 groups of paper presentations and one roundtable forum, covering a variety of fields such as decision theory, game theory, development economics, environmental and resource economics, policy analysis, management science, marketing, and political science, with a view to building a platform for sharing cutting-edge research and ushering in new research ideas. The three keynote speakers included Prof. Theo Offerman with the University of Amsterdam, Prof. Syngjoo Choi with Seoul National University, and Prof. Nobuyuki Hanaki with Osaka University.
The International Symposium on Experimental Economics series, initiated by the XMU College of Economics, has been held for eight times since its launch in 2010, and this year marks the ninth one. The series has become one of the most important conferences on experimental economics in China and even in Asia, expanding the academic influence of XMU College of Economics at home and abroad.
